Hi! Remember me?
Hi everyone. It has been a really crazy week. Nicholas started high school on Monday *gulp* and had band practice after school for 3 days. Friday, we rushed home and only had an hour and a half before we had to head right back to the school for the football game.
The school that Nicholas is now going to is not his base school. We requested a transfer. It is so worth it. I have no regrets, even though the county eliminated almost 4000 bus stops this year in an effort to cut costs. The closest bus stop is 1.5 miles away! I have been taking him back and forth to school this week. I really can’t keep doing that it’s almost 18 miles, round trip. Twice a day.
I have been out of work since school let out on June 13th. I have applied for approximately 24 or 25 jobs this summer. Nothing. A Teacher Assistant position opened up in the Elementary School that shares a huge complex with Nicholas’ high school. I applied on Thursday afternoon. I can’t imagine myself as a TA for a bunch of 2nd graders, but the money is right, it has benefits and it solves our transportation issue. The timing is not exact, but I can work around it. I have an interview on Tuesday at 2 pm!!! I’ll take any prayers and good thoughts, please. Apparently, my old principal called this principal and told her I was awesome! LOL I’ll keep you posted.
Here are a few pictures taken on Friday night of Nick in the stands, playing. It was hot, the kids wore white t-shirts under the uniform bibs. They would have died in full jackets!
These are taken by a professional photog that has a kid in the band.
I took this one of the whole band out on the field, playing the Star Spangled Banner.
He is loving marching band! I am loving being a band mom again!
I have so much going on right now, my school, his school, band and this week, we are back to Scouts. I am almost nervous about getting this job! LOL As badly as I need it, do I have time?
I will try to be back any chance I can.
